Chander Mohan hails Congress victories

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan, who is the elder son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, has welcomed the landmark victory of the Congress in the recent Harayana Assembly by-elections from Gohana and Indri.

Talking to The Hindu over telephone, Mr. Chander Mohan said the Congress victory in the two by-elections clearly indicated that the people of Haryana had not only reposed their faith in the Congress policies delineated by party president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but also recorded their satisfaction with the performance of the Bhupinder Singh Hooda regime in the State.

He said the Congress would win all the Lok Sabha seats from Haryana under Ms. Gandhi’s leadership.

Mr. Chander Mohan, who has been representing the Kalka constituency since 1993, has carved out his own political niche by not joining the new political outfit floated by his father and his younger brother Kuldip Singh Bishnoi.
