Delhi in both finals

BHILWARA: Delhi had a lot to cheer as its boys and girls made the finals of the 59th National junior basketball championship here.

While the Delhi boys humbled Uttar Pradesh 72-53 after leading 40-19 at halftime in the semifinals, the Delhi girls were quite efficient in snuffing out the challenge from Chhattisgarh at 55-46.

In the girls’ final, Delhi will take on Kerala which had earlier beaten Maharashtra in the semifinals on Friday before rain had upset the programme.

The results (semifinals): Boys: Delhi 72 (Sunil 25, Vinay Kaushik 18, Nitin 13) bt Uttar Pradesh 53 (Apresh 18, Arjun 16). Chhattisgarh 59 (Karampal 19, Pratham Singh 19, Lumendra 10) bt Punjab 46 (Rajan Sharma 17).

Girls: Delhi 55 (Sonika 28, Pratima 16) beat Chhattisgarh 46 (Deepa 15, Kavita 12).
