NEW DELHI: Fine half-centuries by skipper Rizwan Shamshad and Gagan Khoda helped defending champion Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to a thumping 181-run victory over Moodi International (Panchkula) in the quarterfinals of the 35th all-India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial cricket tournament at the St. Stephen’s College ground here on Saturday. Rizwan was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for 67-ball 65 that was studded with six boundaries. The scores: ONGC 285 for seven in 40 overs (Rizwan Shamshad 65, Gagan Khoda 57) bt Moodi International (Panchkula) 104 in 24.4 overs. Bowlers shineFine bowling by Vineet, Lovely and Ravi, who bagged nine wickets between them for 19 runs, helped Goswami Ganesh Dutt Club to an eight-wicket victory over Anand Sports in a super elite division cricket match of the DDCA league here. The scores: Super elite: Anand Sports 58 in 29 overs (Vineet four for nine) lost to Goswami Ganesh Dutt CC 60 for two in 18 overs. Elite: CWC 228 for eight in 40 overs (Karan 127, Sachin 52) bt Young Association 182 in 39 overs (Geet Vats 48, Deepak Sharma 44). Good knock by VartikFine batting by Vartik Tihara and T.T. Dalip helped Lal Bahadur Shastri Club to a 61-run victory over Tata Capital in the Lala Raghubir Singh cricket tournament at the Modern School ground, Barakhamba Road, here. The scores: Lal Bahadur Shastri CC 159 for five in 20 overs (Vartik Tihara 44, T.T. Dalip 40) bt Tata Capital 98 for nine in 20 overs. Gush CC 168 for seven in 20 overs (Akash Malhotra 68) bt Delhi Gymkhana 125 for seven in 20 overs.
