Man charged with mother’s murder

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old man has been arrested by the North-West Delhi police for allegedly killing his 50-year-old mother at Rohini on Saturday. The accused was apparently depressed over his failure in various competitive examinations and could not take his mother’s taunts.

According to the police, a call was received around 11-30 a.m. saying that three men had killed Kailash Kumari. The police reached the spot and found the third floor of the house ransacked. The body of the woman was recovered from a bed box. The police also recovered some sedative pills.

On being questioned by the police, the youngest son Vipul told them that three persons, claiming to be from his mother’s village, came to the house and murdered her. However, the police felt something amiss in his story. Following intense questioning, Vipul allegedly confessed to having killed his mother.
