NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old man has been arrested by the North-West Delhi police for allegedly killing his 50-year-old mother at Rohini on Saturday. The accused was apparently depressed over his failure in various competitive examinations and could not take his mother’s taunts. House ransackedAccording to the police, a call was received around 11-30 a.m. saying that three men had killed Kailash Kumari, wife of Ravi Karan Singh. The police reached the spot and found the third floor of the house ransacked. The body of the woman was recovered from a bed box. The police also recovered some sedative pills. The woman’s youngest son Vipul, who has been arrested, was present at the spot. The eldest son, Yashpal Singh, who works with the Delhi police, and Yugpal Singh, who works in a private firm, were out on work. On being questioned by the police, Vipul told them that three persons came to the house and told him that they were from his mother’s village. Asking them to take a seat in the drawing room, he left to fetch cold drinks for the guests. However, when he returned, he saw the three had gone and his mother had been murdered, he told the police. However, the police felt something amiss in his story as he could not explain the sedatives and a cut on one of his hands. Following intense questioning, Vipul allegedly confessed to having killed his mother. A case of murder has been registered at the Prashant Vihar police station and further investigations are on.
