Landlord arrested

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The landlord who was wanted in the double murder case in which an advocate and his father were kidnapped and killed allegedly by his sons and a relative at Nand Nagri in December 2007 has been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police.

According to the police, Rajender Singh was arrested and a Maruti Alto car and a mobile phone allegedly used in the crime were recovered from him.

The police said Rajender had admitted having given Rs.40,000 to Hatam Gujjar, a notorious criminal, for carrying out the killing. Hatam allegedly roped in other accomplices to execute the killings. The lawyer was taken to Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh and killed.

It was in December that an advocate practising in Tis Hazari courts, S. Srinivasa Rao, and his father, S. Sanyasi Rao, had gone missing from their rented accommodation in Nand Nagri after Rajender and his sons had allegedly evicted them following an altercation.
