HUBLI: The district unit of the Indian Union Muslim League has urged the Election Commission to conduct an inquiry into the incidents of cash and materials seized prior to the elections in the State. In a press release here, president of the district unit Dadapeer M. Koppal has urged the Election Commission to come out with details on the ownership of the money and materials seized during the elections. “Whether the money belonged to the party or the candidate, whether it was intended for distribution to voters... all these issues should be clarified by the EC and steps should be taken to ensure the guilty were punished,” he said. Mr. Dadapeer has said that the commission should take steps to disqualify election of those candidates, if it was proved that they had indulged in wooing voters.
