Certificate course in sericulture

CHENNAI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Central Silk Board will jointly conduct a certificate course in Sericulture.
A press release from T.R. Srinivasan, Regional Director, IGNOU, said the programme would begin from July. The programmes will impart knowledge and technical skills in various aspects of sericulture. The minimum qualification for joining the course is a pass in 10th standard.
However, those who have a minimum of two years experience in the field of sericulture can join the programme even if they have not passed 10th standard.
They should obtain an experience certificate from the extension officials of the department of sericulture or agriculture or recognised NGOs or industry.
Fee for the six month course is Rs 2,500.
