LDF government flayed

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Educational sector in the State is in shambles as the confusion in the self-financing colleges issue once again threatens to force students to go to neighbouring States for higher studies, P.P. Thankachan, convener, United Democratic Front, said.

He was inaugurating a function organised by Dalit Aikyavedi to commemorate the birth centenary of Babu Jagjivan Ram and to facilitate Kodikkunil Suresh on his appointment as All India Congress Committee secretary here on Sunday. Mr. Thankachan said that that the two-year-old LDF government had been a complete failure on all fronts and that it had lost collective responsibility. The government had completely neglected the Dalit communities, he said.

Ajay Tharayil, general secretary, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee and V.K. Thankaraj, general secretary, DCC, were among those who attended the function.
