Erratic schedule of buses

Though the Autonagar depot of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is operating buses between Kankipadu and Gannavaram via Punadipadu, the long time gap between one bus and another is testing the patience of commuters.

Because of the erratic schedule of the buses, the commuters have no other option but to take auto-rickshaws to reach their destinations.

If the APSRTC authorities take steps to curtail the delay between one bus and the next one on this route, commuters will not depend on auto-rickshaws.

This is an important route, as people travel frequently between the two places.

Mistakes galore in textbooks

It is unfortunate that there are several mistakes in the science textbooks published by the Government for the students of classes IX and X. Though the mistakes were brought to the notice of the State Council of Educational Research and Training by a retired lecturer of physics from Bapatla in Guntur district, no corrective measures have been taken by the Government.

It is the responsibility of the Department of School Education to publish the textbooks with correct material in every aspect without misleading the students.

If such a situation persists, it will be detrimental to the future careers of students.

Revive the facility at telegraph office

The Telegraph Office located near the east side of the railway station used to serve the general public and train commuters.

Recently, I visited the office to send a telegram to one of my relatives and to my dismay the staff working there directed me to go either to the Head Post Office in One Town or the Post Office located at Buckinghampet.

Hence, I request the postal officials to revive the facility of sending telegrams from the telegraph office near railway station, which will be of great use to general public.

Pantry car needed

The Seshadri Express is being operated between Kakinada and Bangalore and the journey time is about 20 hours.

Since there is no pantry car in the train, commuters face difficulties to get food and water during the journey. Unfortunately, the catering facility by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation is not being extended to sleeper coaches. As a result, the commuters are forced to get down from the train at major stations to buy foodstuff and water bottles.

Since it is a tedious task for senior citizens, children and women who travel alone, they are forced to starve throughout the journey.

I request the railway authorities to extend pantry car facility to Seshadri Express.
