Held on theft charge

The Task Force Police on Sunday arrested Jeeru Venkat Reddy, 45, of BC Road in Dayal Nagar on the charge of stealing steel rods from Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

Police said he used to procure the rods in small quantity while loading the material into lorries with the assistance of some employees. During the raid on his house, half a tonne steel rods were recovered. He was later handed over to new port police station at Gangavaram.
