Elephants create panic

KORAPUT: Elephants have re-entered in Koraput district creating panic among the people in the remote villages. A herd of nine elephants have reportedly entered into the district through Dasmantpur block a few days back. While the elephants had damaged crops in Malikarchi, Hardaguda and Kusukbhatta villages in Jeypore block they were taking rest near Mahujharana, the sources added. It may be recalled that five persons were killed by elephants in the district last year. -Correspondent
