Jolt to TRS in Warangal

WARANGAL: The TRS received a severe jolt in Warangal district by conceding a Parliamentary and one Assembly seat to the rival TDP in the byelection. The TDP succeeded in getting back its Warangal Parliamentary seat and Station Ghanpur Assembly seat from the TRS. TDP senior leader E Dayakar Rao won the seat with a majority of 4,386 while former minister K. Srihari won the Station Ghanpur by a majority of 4,118 votes. Interestingly, in both places the TRS candidates came in place while the Congress candidate lost narrowly giving tough fight to the TDP candidates. TRS retained Hanamkonda Parliamentary seat where its senior leader B Vinod Kumar won by 50, 264 votes defeating Congress rival K. Surekha. TRS former MLA K. Pratap Reddy won with a majority of 15,464 votes defeating Congress candidate Ponnala Vaishali.
In Warangal Parliamentary constituency, the TDP candidate E. Dayakar Rao polled 2,87,325 votes, Congress candidate P. Rameshwar Reddy got 2,82,937 votes while the TRS candidate D. Ravindra Naik came third with 2,28,968.
