BHILWARA: Delhi girls bounced back from a below par fare in the third quarter to beat Kerala 43-37 in the final of the 59th National junior basketball championship here on Sunday. After having led 21-18 at half-time, Delhi was unable to maintain its command as Kerala pulled ahead to be 31-27 at the end of the third quarter. However, Sonika, Pratima Singh, Chinmayee and Niharika, all contributed to Delhi’s triumph with their understanding and confident play. It was a memorable triumph for Delhi after its runner-up performance in the last edition. Delhi had avenged its defeat by beating the defending champion Chhattisgarh in the semifinals. The results: Girls (final): Delhi 43 (Sonika 14, Pratima Singh 10, Chinmayee 10) beat Kerala 37 (Smrithi 11, Ashey Mathew 9, Stephy Nison 9, Liji Mol 8).
