Hollywood rocks this June

Sunday Superhit: ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ to be screened on HBO on June 29 at 9 p.m.

NEW DELHI: Providing television viewers a summer extravaganza, HBO will air some of the biggest critically-acclaimed Hollywood blockbusters throughout June.

In addition, HBO will beam the premiere of a super hit comedy in “Blockbuster of the Month”. In this special category, it will premiere “Mr. Bean’s Holiday” starring Rowan Atkinson on June 27.

In this superhit comedy, the bumbling Mr. Bean wins a trip to the picturesque French city of Cannes only to unwittingly separate a boy from his father. He must now help bring them together. Along their hilarious journey they discover French culture, road trip hiccups and the meaning of true love at the Cannes Film Festival.

Blockbusters

Cinema lovers can also look forward to an amazing line-up in “HBO See It First”, “HBO Friday Blockbusters” and “HBO Sunday Superhits”.

Every Saturday at 9 p.m. a film will be premiered on “HBO See It First”. This month’s premiere line-up includes action adventure “Blood Diamond” starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Jennifer Connelly, Djimon Hounsou and Michael Sheen on June 7.

It will be followed by the Adam Sandler-Liv Tyler starrer “Reign Over Me” on June 14. Watch the animation masterpiece “Over the Hedge” on June 21. This special film will feature the voices of super star Bruce Willis and Garry Shandling. To add to the excitement, “Blades of Glory” starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder will be aired on June 28.

What better way to end the weekend than with “HBO Sunday SuperHits” every Sunday night! “Mars Attacks” starring Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close and Pierce Brosnan will be aired on June 8. The Tom Hanks-Sally Field starrer “Forrest Gump” will be beamed on June 15 and action adventure “Zathura: A Space Adventure” starring Tim Robbins on June 22.

A superhit romantic film completes the retinue, “My Best Friend’s Wedding” starring Hollywood leading actors Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz on June 29.

HBO will celebrate Fathers’ Day this year with four special family movies every Sunday before the 9 p.m. movie. The movies include “RV” on June 8, “Firewall” on June 15, “Look Who’s Talking Too” on June 22 and “Analyze This” on June 29. Four swashbuckling adventure thrillers will be showcased every Thursday. “Snakes on a Plane” on June 5 will be followed by “The Perfect Storm” on June 12, “Poseidon” on June 19 and “The Hunt for Red October” on June 26.

Thrillers

The magic continues as the channel will showcase a wide array of Hollywood movies only on “HBO Friday Blockbusters” at 9 p.m. The line-up begins with the musical animation “Happy Feet” featuring the voices of Robin Williams, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman on June 6.

It will be followed by the action adventure thriller “Mission Impossible III” starring the charismatic Tom Cruise and Philip Seymour Hoffman on June 13 and “Ghost Rider” starring Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes on June 20.
