New electricity connections

JAIPUR: Jaipur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam has released new electricity connections to 13,942 families living below the poverty line in Kota district and electrified 36 villages and 27 hamlets as part of the power sector reforms programme launched in the district at a cost of Rs.16.71 crore.

Jaipur discom Executive Engineer C.P. Vijay said here on Monday that the power connections were also released in the Ladpura, Sangod, Sultanpur, Itawa and Khairbad panchayat samitis in the district under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme.

Work for repairing of 137 feeders was also taken up, while round-the-clock power supply was being given to 775 villages after a significant reduction in the transmission and distribution losses, said Mr. Vijay.

He said the construction of 12 new sub-station of 33 KV was in progress in the district.
