‘Aiming for sustainable education’

Action council to be formed to achieve this end: Premachandran

KASARAGOD: The State government will form an action council to implement sustainable education in the State, Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran has said.

The Minister was inaugurating the district-level school reopening festival at Bara Government Upper Primary School in the district on Monday.

The Minister said that the education sector in the State had achieved commendable results.

The cooperation of teachers, students, parent and teacher associations and locals was needed to sustain the results. He requested all sections of the society to extend support to the State government in its efforts to modernise the education sector in the State.

The government would do everything possible to strengthen government institutions in the education sector, Mr. Premachandran added.

The State had provided an example to the whole country by distributing text books free of cost to students studying in Classes I to VIII in government schools, noted Mr. Premachandran.

Uduma MLA K.V. Kunhiraman presided over the function.

District panchayat president M.V. Balakrishnan Master inaugurated the free distribution of text books.
