Jewels, cash stolen from house

CHENGAM: Burglars broke into a house at T N Pettai in Chengam and decamped with Rs.2.50 lakh worth goods including 20-sovereign jewels in the early hours

on Monday.

Police said that burglars gained entry into the house of Danabagyam, who along her husband was sleeping on the terrace, and broke open an almirah.

They stole 20 sovereigns of jewels and Rs. 50, 000 in cash and a cell phone kept in it. A complaint has been filed at the Chengam Police Station. — Staff Reporter
