Fishermen stage dharna

Kakinada: A large number of fishermen staged a dharna in front of the collectorate here on Monday demanding inclusion of their community in the list of Scheduled Tribes (ST), payment of pension of Rs 500 per month to all fishermen and women, who are aged above 50, and a permanent relief and rehabilitation package for those affected by the upcoming projects of Reliance Industries and the ONGC. Rashtra Matsyakarula ST Sadhana Samiti president K Chittibabu, Samiti leaders G Sattibabu, G Pyda Rao and others led the agitation and sought immediate response and action from the government.
