Demand to extend property tax deadline

NEW DELHI: The Congress has demanded extension of the last date for payment of property tax with rebate from June 30 to August 30.

In a statement on Monday, Vasant Kunj Councillor Rakesh Rahora said: “Property tax payers in Delhi were under prolonged confusion over the rebates on offer and hence could not file their returns on time.

“The civic body should now extend the last date and create awareness among tax payers by advertising in newspapers and updating its website,” he added
