MCD cracks down on hotel

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi cracked down on unauthorised portions of Hotel Uppal Orchid at Mahipalpur here on Monday following directives of the Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee.

Civic body officials claimed the hotel authorities had been forewarned to demolish the unauthorised part themselves and that the action was based on the review of a technical report. However, the hotel authorities said they had not been intimated and that the action was uncalled for since the matter was sub judice.
