New Delhi: The Gujarat police were on Monday slammed by the Delhi High Court for “arresting” a minor boy from the Capital and taking him to Ahmedabad without informing the local police or his parents. “Are you (Gujarat police) not following the law anymore?” a Bench comprising Justices Siddharth Mridul and Manmohan said when informed that the 16-year-old boy was taken into the custody by the Gujarat police without following the laid down procedure. InvestigationThe boy was arrested, during investigation into a criminal case, from north-east Delhi by the Gujarat police and taken to Ahmedabad on May 25 without informing the local police or his parents. The boy’s mother Tasleema then approached the High Court seeking release of her child.
