This Day That Age
If India succeeded in rebuilding her society on the basis of the Sarvodaya philosophy she would be able to create for herself a distinct place in the comity of nations, said President Rajendra Prasad, addressing the plenary session of the All-India Sarvodaya Sammelan in Pandharpur on June 1. The President said that India should rebuild her society on the basis of her own culture and genius, taking advantage, at the same time, of scientific progress to bring about material prosperity. Dr. Rajendra Prasad paid tributes to Acharya Vinoba Bhave for reviving the spirit of sacrifice among the people. Acharya Bhave began his movement by asking for a portion of the land and developed it to ask for donation of entire villages. The success he had been able to achieve in the movement had few parallels in history, he added.
