Chhattisgarh captures crown
Bhilwara: Chhattisgarh dethroned defending champion Delhi with a 73-67 victory in the boys’ final of the 59th National Junior basketball championship that concluded here on Sunday.
The Chhattisgarh boys converted crucial baskets towards the end to tilt the balance in their team’s favour and clinch the honour.
Incidentally, it was a revenge victory for the Chhattisgarh team which had lost its crown in the girls section earlier, following a defeat in the semifinals to the eventual champion, Delhi.
The results: Boys: Final: Chhattisgarh 73 (Pratham Singh 23, Kiran Pal 20) bt Delhi 67 (Sunil 25, Sachin 13, Nitin 11, Vinay 11).
