Artillery downs AOC Centre

Hyderabad: Artillery Centre defeated AOC Centre 2-0 in the A-1 Super League hockey championship at Begumpet Police Stadium here on Monday. Junas Ekka scored in the sixth minute of the first half and in the second session C. Bhengra was on target to complete the tally for the winner.

In the B-Division league at AOC Grounds, Boys Union put it across Youth Association 3-1 with H. Mahesh, Syed Abbas and Kranthi being the scorers for the winner while Sk. Aleem reduced the margin for the loser.

Easy win for HMV

Hindi Maha Vidyalaya recorded a 73-run win over St. Patrick’s High School in the under-11 category of the fifth Paradise Persis Gold Cup cricket tournament here.

The scores: HMV 191 for six (Raghuram 53 n.o., Raghav Reddy 36 n.o., Dinesh three for 34) bt St. Patrick’s HS 118 (Rathi 36, Baljeet three for 16, Divesh three for 10).

Daniel CA 178 for three (Srinath 56, Anurag 44) bt Jubilee High School 57 (Srinath three for 18).

Sachdev Cup football

Shastri Soccer Club will organise the fifth Sachdev Sports Cup inter-summer coaching camps football tournament for boys (under-16) at the Trimulgherry Grounds here from June 8, according to S. Tony. There will be no entry fee. The teams which have already confirmed participation include Gymkhana ‘A’ and ‘B’, Trimulgherry ‘A’ and ‘B’, Valluvarnagar, J.J. Nagar, Bolarum, Kamala Nehru Nagar, Gandhinagar, Central Battery, Alwal, VVS, Venkatapuram and Ramakrishnapuram. For details, contact phone no. 27793322.

APOA meeting

Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association has convened a meeting of its office-bearers, secretaries and presidents of various State Sports Associations, coordinators and convenors of various centres on June 4 at Olympic Bhavan at 5.00 pm to review the plan of action for the Olympic Day Run to be organised later this month, according to L. Venkatramreddy, secretary of APOA.
