Serious journalism on the decline: Mani

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress (M) leader K. M. Mani has regretted the decline of responsible journalism.

Delivering a lecture on ‘Journalism: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ following presentation of the K. Vijayaraghavan Award for life-time achievement in journalism to veteran journalist K.G. Parameswaran Nair here on Monday, Mr. Mani said the pursuit of sensationalism was becoming a major bane for the media.

Call for legislation

Earlier, after presenting the ward, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi called for a legislation to check the activities of all corporate entities that worked against the attempts of the government to check inflation and hold the price line.
