Accused escapes from custody

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A taxi driver arrested for the theft of gold ornaments of a family hailing from Karakulam escaped from police custody on Monday. Nazeeb, 40, a resident of NCC Nagar and native of Anchal in Kollam district, escaped from the police jeep at 5.30 p.m. Two constables were in the jeep. According to Circle Inspector, Peroorkada, K. E. Baiju, the accused was being taken to Palode in connection with the theft case. – Staff Reporter
