Resignation accepted

NEW DELHI: The national leadership of the Janata Dal (United) has accepted the resignation of B. Somashekar as president of the party’s Karnataka unit. M.P. Nadegowda, MLC, has been appointed in his place. Announcing this, a party press release here said the party placed on record its appreciation of the work done by Mr. Somashekar during his tenure as president of the Karnataka unit. The other office-bearers at the State level would be appointed after consultation between the central leadership and new State unit president, it added. — Special Correspondent
