Nod for unified service rules likely soon

HYDERABAD: The file pertaining to the unified service rules of teachers is likely to receive the assent of the President in a week even as the government is preparing to issue an ordinance and re-issue of orders pertaining to service rules.

The issue came up at a review meeting held by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday. The officials concerned were understood to have informed the CM that once the file received clearance from the President, the department would start the process for promotions to about 35,000 teachers and transfer of another 50,000 that had been kept in abeyance. The department was gearing up to submit the notification of DSC 2008 for recruitment of teachers before June 20 for its approval while the government was likely to issue the orders for setting up AP Education and Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation on June 4.
