Doctor remanded in judicial custody

DAVANGERE: A doctor who allegedly aborted a foetus without the woman’s consent was arrested by the Harihar police recently. He was produced before a court in Harihar, which remanded him in judicial custody.
According to the police, a woman from a village in Harihar taluk visited the doctor Veerendra Patil. He is said to have examined her and aborted the foetus that the woman was carrying. The police say the Mr. Patil informed the woman later about the operation.
Complaint
She returned to Harihar and filed a complaint against the doctor. The police registered a case and arrested the doctor.
The woman has been admitted to the Chigateri General Hospital here.
