CHANDIGARH: Apprehending rigging and violence by ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP combine, the Punjab unit of the Congress has demanded deployment of Central forces for the municipal elections scheduled for June 30. A delegation of senior Congress leaders led by former PCC president Mohinder Singh Gill has submitted a memorandum to State Election Commissioner A.K. Dubey demanding deployment of para-military forces, video-recording of the entire election process and use of electronic voting machines for the elections.
