Manmohan to open airport

BANGALORE: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has agreed to formally inaugurate the international airport at Devanahalli.

Disclosing this to reporters in Bangalore on Tuesday, Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said he had requested the Prime Minister during his recent Delhi visit to inaugurate the new airport. But he did not specify when the inauguration will be held.

The flight operations have already commenced at the new airport from May 24.

However, the formal inauguration of the airport is yet to be held.
