Staff Reporter

1,000 packages

sold in the first

20 days of May

BANGALORE: Air India has sold over 1,000 holiday packages covering a wide range of destinations in India and abroad in the first 20 days of May.

While this earned it Rs. 8.5 crore, the airline earned Rs. 74.1 crore by selling 13,120 holiday packages during the last fiscal, said a release.

Air India has on offer over 400 comprehensive package options covering 150 cities in 22 Indian States and 10 international destinations. The international network was recently expanded to include London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai and Kuala Lumpur.

The Mainland China package introduced in April takes the traveller to Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou and Hangzhou.

A package normally includes return airfares, airport transfers, accommodation in standard 3-5 star hotels, meals and local sightseeing, all at economical prices. Details about packages can be had from www.airindiaholidays.in.

Packages can be purchased through the Dial-A-Package facility available on the toll free number 1800 180 1407.

Expansion

Air India Express, which operates 48 flights a week to Dubai from 12 cities, is on an expansion spree. The airline will add nine more flights from three more Indian cities to Dubai in June to have 57 weekly flights — a record for any single destination.

Air India Express, the international budget airline, which is into its fourth year of operations, will now have flights to Dubai from Hyderabad, Goa and Pune.

With the introduction of these nine new flights, Air India Express will now have 162 weekly flights taking off from 16 cities — Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Mangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Trichy, Amritsar, Nagpur, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Pune, Hyderabad and Goa.

The airline has 12 international stations on its network — Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Al Ain, Salalah, Bahrain, Doha, Colombo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
