299 made vendors

As per a Government Order, under the public distribution system, 299 pull-cart kerosene vendors, who can cater to 500 ration card holders, have been made retail vendors. The order issued by Collector S. S. Jawahar came into force on Sunday.

In a statement, the Collector said that retail vendors would distribute kerosene on all working days at fair price shops from 3.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. The practical guidelines and records maintained in fair price shops would be applicable to them.

Since they had been made retail vendors, the Collector said that kerosene should be sold using pull carts or tri-cycles.
