Regulatory orders

The City Police Commissioner, K.C. Mahali, has clamped regulatory orders under section 41 of the Madras City Police Act prohibiting public assembly, dharnas, demonstrations, processions and meetings in all the 15 police station limits till the midnight of June 16. The regulatory orders are aimed at preventing breach of public peace and tranquillity by persons belonging to different religious, social, economic and political ideologies.
