TAMBARAM: A 20-year-old youth fell to death from a government bus on Rajiv Gandhi Salai at Semmancheri on Monday night. The Guindy Traffic Police (Investigation) said M. Rishi Ram Ganaal of Nepal was working as an attender at a self-financing engineering college near Sholinganallur.

On Monday evening, he had gone along with a group of his friends to Mamallapuram to attend a wedding. He was returning in a government bus (attached to the Villupuram Division) that was bound for Koyambedu.

Rishi Ram and his friends were travelling on the footboard of the bus and was reported to have tried to get down even before it came to a halt. The youth died instantly, police said, adding the accident took place around 11 p.m.
