One injured in clash at prison

CUDDALORE: Inmates of a cell in the Cuddalore Central Prison clashed on Monday night, injuring Suraj (27), who was treated in the jail hospital.

On a complaint from jail authorities the police registered a case against five inmates. Jail sources told The Hindu that the injured prisoner did not belong to any extremist organisation. He was a convict sentenced to undergo imprisonment in an ordinary crime.

The sources said earlier, Suraj and Ajmir Khan were kept in a separate cell.
