The 10-day fair will be organised at the Rajaji Hall during third week of June To augment income and popularise tours, an educational fair has been proposed
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) plans to hold a laser show at Muttukadu boating yard on East Coast Road and an educational fair at Rajaji Hall under the public-private partnership model.
TTDC sources said these decisions were taken at its Board meeting on Friday.
“The revenue sharing concept under the PPP model has gone well and the Corporation’s earning estimated to cross Rs.80 lakh at the summer festival, which ends on June 8 at the Island Grounds,” an official said.
To augment TTDC’s income and popularise package tours, an educational fair has been proposed. The 10-day fair would be organised at the Rajaji Hall during June third week.
It will feature stalls dealing with school books, stationery and other items related to school children.
The meeting also decided to hold a food festival in August on Island Grounds involving culinary delicacies of neighbouring southern States, and, alongside, have entertainment and amusement for the younger generation.
The ongoing Snow Ball show organised by Spell Bound will be held in Coimbatore shortly as part of the TTDC’s efforts to take entertainment to the two-tier towns of the State.
