MUMBAI: The Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) National Convention, Events & Awards will be held from June 4 to 8 at various venues. The five-day sports fiesta, hosted by Sports Journalists Association of Mumbai (SJAM) involves competitions in football (penalty kicks), cricket (T20), golf (putting), badminton and table tennis between sports journalists from all over India, apart from Euro football quiz, Beijing 2008 Olympics seminar, SJFI Awards for Excellence in reporting, writing, photography, and broadcasting. The SJFI events conclude on June 8 with the SJFI awards ceremony. The chairman of BCCI senior selection committee, Dilip Vengsarkar, and former All England champion, Pullela Gopichand, are the chief guests. The event sponsors are Reliance Industries Limited, ORRA, Indian Oil, Essar Group, Rizvi Sports. Nike India is the prizes partner. The convention is supported by D.Y. Patil Sports Academy, ESPN-STAR Sports, Mumbai Cricket Association, National Aviation Company of India Ltd, Bombay Presidency Golf Cup and Bombay Gymkhana.
