The film tells the story of an unusual thief Murugan alias Andavan. Andavan Andavan, directed by Akbar Jose, tells the story of an unusual thief Murugan alias Andavan (Kalabhavan Mani) who steals to help the people of his slum. He is, however, a thorn in the flesh of a powerful moneylender, Parameswara Panicker. Murugan goes absconding after committing a crime and the police have no clue about his whereabouts. Sreerekha (Sindhu Menon) who takes charge as Sub-Inspector in the locality is entrusted with the task of nabbing Murugan. Her efforts prove futile and she is soon caught in the scuffle between Murugan and the moneylender, Parameswara Panicker. The moneylender feels the police officer is soft on Murugan and hatches a plot to implicate her in a false case. The police officer is suspended. However, Murugan continues to expose the misdeeds of the moneylender. The film is scripted by K. Girishkumar. Sindhu Menon and Jagathi Sreekumar perform well. Kalabhavan Mani is his usual self. Kolappulli Leela, Salim Kumar Bijukuttan, Indrans and Seena Nair form the rest of the cast. The lyrics of Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri and Bappu Velliparambu are set to tune by Alex Paul. Vipin Mohan cranks the camera. Andavan is produced by Cinema Company. G. Jayakumar
