Congress demands Chauhan’s resignation

Staff Correspondent

BHOPAL: Union Minister and Congress general secretary V. Narayanaswamy on Wednesday demanded the State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s resignation on the issue of corruption and said that he should seek a CBI probe into the dumper scam related to purchase of heavy vehicles by his spouse.

Mr. Narayanaswamy, who is also in charge of Congress party affairs in Madhya Pradesh, was addressing a press conference here along with the PCC president, Suresh Pachouri.

He accused the State Government of gross misuse of funds meant for welfare schemes funded by the Centre and demanded a White Paper on the use of funds received from the Centre. “The State Government faces serious charges of corruption when it comes to the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme, Universalisation of Primary education, Public Distribution System, purchase of medicines and implementation of various health schemes,” he added.
