This Day That Age
The French Parliament on June 3 put the final seal of approval on the sweeping powers demanded by Gen. De Gaulle when the Senate (Upper House) also passed by an overwhelming majority the Bill authorising the general to prepare constitutional reforms. The Bill needed a three-fifths majority in both Houses to become a law immediately and obtained this with ease.
