Fair price shops raided
The Vigilance and Enforcement Officials conducted raids at two fair price shops (no. 40 and 41) at Railway New Colony on Tuesday and seized 11 tonnes of Rs.2-a-kg rice due to variations in the records. Cases were booked against the accused shop dealers and reports were sent to the District Supply Officer (urban) for further action. The raids were conducted by DSP (Vigilance and Enforcement) D.V.S.K. Bhagavan Raju and his team. Random checks were conducted at 165 FP shops in the city and district inMay and cases were booked against four shops and 4.5 tonnes of PDS rice was seized.
