GUNTUR: All arrangements are in place for the two-day visit of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to the district from Thursday. The district administration and the police are making efforts to make it a sooth affair. The Chief Minister is spending considerable time at sensitive project sites like Varikapudisela and Pulichintala, so unprecedented security arrangements were being made. About 4,500 policemen, including those drawn from special parties, armed reserve contingents, home guards etc would be manning the entire route to be traversed by the CM and his convoy. While District Collector B. Venkatesham an S.P Mahesh Chandra Laddha would be in charge of programmes at Pulichintala, Joint Collector Kantilal Dande and Markapur O.S.D Ammi Reddy would oversee arrangements at Macherla and Guntur Municipal Commissioner Siddhartha Jain and Nellore S.P Malla Reddy would be the incharges of the programmes at Guntur. Releasing the final schedule of the Chief Minister’s visit to mediapersons here on Wednesday, District Collector B. Venkatesham and S.P Mahesh Chandra Laddha said Chief Minister would touch down at Gangayapalem Thanda in Veldurthy mandal at 10 a.m. and lay the foundation stone for the Varekipudisala lift irrigation project. He would then proceed to Pulichintala project site and lay the foundation stone for 10 lift irrigation schemes and address a massive Rythu Chaitanya Yatra. Transport Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana, who has been camping at the project site for the last couple of days, said that more than 30,000 farmers would attend the meeting and arrangements were being made to provide lunch to the farmers. After taking lunch at the site, the Chief Minister would heli-hop to Guntur where he would inaugurate the Rajiv Gruha Kalpa housing project at Adavitakkelapadu and later lay the foundation stone for the Y.S.R Journalists’ Colony. He would then drive down to attend the Minorities meet at GMCANA auditorium and proceed to Pitchukulagunta, where he would attend a Youth Congress rally marking the conclusion of `Maro Praja Prastanam’. After a small break, he would chair the District Review Committee meeting at the Z.P conference hall and also hold a meeting with corporators and officials of the Guntur Municipal Corporation. He would inaugurate the e-surveillance system at the Police Control Room before flying to Avanigadda in Krishna District. Agricultural Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy and Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah would also attend the meeting.
