BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet was expanded on Thursday with the induction of one Cabinet Minister and three Ministers of State, who were sworn in by the Governor, Balram Jakhar, at Raj Bhavan here in the evening. Former Member of Parliament Jagannath Singh has been administered the oath of office and secrecy as Cabinet Minister. He represents the reserved Devsar (ST) Assembly constituency in Sidhi district. Those sworn in as Ministers of State are Ramdayal Ahirwar, Nirmala Bhuria and Narayan Prasad Kabirpanthi. Mr. Ahirwar represents the reserved Maharajpur (SC) constituency in Chhatarpur district, Ms. Bhuria represents the Petlawad (ST) seat in Jhabua district and Mr. Kabirpanthi represents the Naryawli (SC) constituency in Sagar district. With this, the size of the State Council of Ministers has gone up to 35, including Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The Cabinet expansion comes hot on the heels of Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi’s resignation after Income Tax raids on his brother’s residence.
