Protests against price hike

KOLAR: Under the leadership of various organisations, the public took to the streets on Thursday protesting against the hike in prices of petroleum products.

Responding to a Protest Week call given by the central committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist), scores of party activists staged a road blockade at the KSRTC Bus Stand Circle. Addressing the public gathered at the protest site, CPI (M) State committee member Gandhinagar Narayanswamy strongly condemned the ‘anti-people’ policy of the Union Government. The party’s taluk secretary A.V. Venkatram also spoke.
