HYDERABAD: The Narayana Group of Institutions has claimed that the maximum number of students joining IITs this year from the State come from their colleges while their students also bagged several top ranks in all the major medical entrance examinations this year. P. Narayana, chairman of the Narayana Group of Institutions, said that their group was sending more than 1,000 students to IITs this year. Mr. Narayana said students from the group got the first rank in Delhi Pre-Medical Test, KLE Belgaum test, ComedK-2008 and MAHE in the medial stream while 12 of them got into AFMC. He said 41 students figured in the top 100 in the EAMCET engineering stream while in the medical stream it got 27 ranks below 100 including the State first rank. In the VIT entrance examination 225 students got ranks below 3,000 at the national-level. In the AIEEE too 365 students from the State figured in the top 100 ranks. Sri ChaitanyaSri Chaitanya Educational Institutions, also claimed that a record number of their students got into IITs, NITs, engineering and medical colleges this year B.S. Rao, chairman of the institutions, told a press conference that the institutions would send 735 students from AP alone to the IITs while the number was 953 including institutions in other States. The 7th ranker in open category was from the institution apart from 67 others getting ranks below 100 in all categories. He said 3,496 students bagged ranks in the B.Tech and B.Arch courses in the AIEEE creating a new record. In the EAMCET engineering stream it bagged the first rank apart from 27 below 50 ranks. Some 45,666 students got seat assured ranks. In the medical stream it got the first mark and 2,132 best ranks.
