TNPL gets TERI Corporate Award

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd (TNPL), an eco-friendly bagasse-based paper company in Pugalur, has bagged the second prize in the TERI Corporate Awards 2008.

The award was given in recognition of the initiatives undertaken by TNPL in corporate environment management.

Md. Nasimuddin, TNPL Managing Director, received the award from Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath at a function in New Delhi on May 31.

The TNPL was chosen for the prize from among companies with an annual turnover of over Rs. 500 crore. The former Chief Justice of India, J. S. Verma, headed the 18-member jury that decided the corporate awards for this year.
