Of ranks and ads

Last week has been hectic for colleges and students with EAMCET, IIT-JEE and AIEEE results out within a gap of a few days.

Along with the results came the claims of ranks by various corporate colleges. Newspapers were flooded with advertisements while news channels and FM radio stations were bombarded with screams of claims for the best ranks at the State and national lev els.

While the idea was to inform and attract the parents to join their wards in those colleges, the claims rather confused them in choosing the best one.

So, the final decision again came through discussion in the family, peer pressure and advice from seniors.
