Rice arrives from Bengal

KOCHI: In all, 2,476 tonnes of rice arrived at Ernakulam on Thursday from West Bengal, at the initiative of Consumerfed. The rice was brought to the railway goods shed here by train, in 40 wagons. Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran received the consignment and later flagged off the lorries that carried the rice to retail outlets.Consumerfed managing director Regi Nair said 250 lorries have been arranged to take the rice to Triveni and Neethi stores by Friday.
